Odour Sorb

This is the product that has started to dominate the market for the application of destroying bad odours.
ODOUR-SORB was originally formulated for the removal of odour from still water around gassometers
and was found to be very successful in its application.
Since then ODOUR-SORB has been found to be very successful in many other applications, e.g., water
storage and recycling tanks in car washes, water towers, settling pits, leaching tanks. Also ideal for
use on rubbish tips with backpack sprayer or foggers, rubbish bins and skips, abattoirs.
HOW DOES IT WORK

The product is based around a series of essential oils derived from plant extracts. These naturally
occurring products are then blended with other chemicals and surfactants to produce a ready for use
product.
The product is atomised into tiny droplets which have a large surface area and are therefore able to
absorb a huge amount of odourous compound.
The process of atomisation sets up electrostatic charges on the droplets which will enhance the natural
Van der Waals attractions present and thus attract the odourous molecules in the air.
Having attracted the odourous molecules they react in various ways. There is a reaction with the
C=C double bonds present in the naturally occuring essential oils used in the product and this forms a
permanent chemical bond.
Some of the odourous material dissolves in the microscopic droplets altering its pH and allowing
acid/base reactions with the oils present in the Odorsorb. The product of these reactions are non
volatile organic salts and so the odour removal is permanent with the salts degrading naturally.
The product has proved effective on a wide variety of organic odours particularly mercaptans. With
the odourous molecule in much the same way as a carbon filter would.
